Itinerary description
Facing the mountain - I went up somewhere at the middle (as the trail leads there) and descended at the left side. Both trails divide / come together a bit further, closer to the volcano.
The first part of the trail is very easy, since it follows the cars friendly gravel road. Soon it narrows to a hiking path and leads closer to the mountain. At this point the trail is still very obvious, easy to follow and gains elevation really slowly. Eventually it starts ascending and at that point it gets lost somewhere between the rocks and stone plates. I followed the logical line, which was straight up, because I found it easy enough to walk / climb. Please note that this part is 'off the beaten path' and I used my hands at a couple of occasions to be safer and more comfortable. From my perspective this part was not difficult, but I'm not recommending it if this is one of your first (volcano) experiences, or in case you're not comfortable outside the trail or maybe even in a bit open, exposed places.
After this part (which took me around 10-15 min) I reached the ridge and continued to the left (still no real trail, but it's not really needed), up to what appeared to be the summit. A couple of minutes later I reached a beautiful plateau with some amazing views - one of them was a view of the real summit just a couple of meters behind. After taking a couple of minutes up there I went back to the plateau and started descending on the right side and soon found a trail which led me down.
I went alone, without sticks, in hiking shoes and it took me around 2 hours to finish the circle, taking photos included. I was the only person on the mountain.
I wouldn't choose this trail as my first volcano hike, since there are a lot of easier routs on the island, but in case you're fairly experienced and looking for a less popular, beautiful 'off the beaten path' experience with a bit of easy climbing and most stunning views, probably also without anyone around, this might be a great choice.
Ps. In case you find a trail through that middle part, please tell us in a comment below.

The trail is circular. I went up on the right side and descended on the left (= facing the mountain from below). At this small crossroads I took the right trail.

So far the trail was narrow, but fairly obvious and easy to follow. Somewhere around here it got lost among the rocks. In case you find it, please leave a comment below. From this point I just followed the most logical way, which was more or less straight up. It's not difficult, yet I used my hands 2-3 times to help me climb. I'm not recommending this part to inexperienced hikers or in case you have fear of open, maybe a bit exposed places. You can see this part of the trail also on the next 5 photos.

Although from down below and throughout the hike this appeared to be the top, it isn't.

Reaching this plateau I realized that the real peak (just a couple of meters higher) is actually just behind. Still, amazing viewpoint.

Since the trail is circular, I started descending on the opposite side of that plateau (looking down from the top in the direction of parking, that would be the right side). At the beginning the trail is not very obvious, but after I made a couple of meters down it appeared. It was easy to follow all the way down.

The beginning and the end of the trail. A note: the trail you start walking on is not the one seen on the photo in front of the car, but a couple of meters to the right. At the beginning it's a wide (cars friendly) road but soon narrows to the hiking trail.
