Itinerary description
An easy magnificent circular hike through an impressive volcanic landscape. The Montaña Negra is a real eye-catcher in its dark colours with the reddish edge and the fresh green color of the Carinan pine trees.
Although its name means "Black Mountain", it is interesting to note that it is in fact made up of grayish-brown materials due to oxidation. The upper stretch of the trail is populated by dense broom bushes, while Canarian pines inhabit the lower part, which was struck by a forest fire in summer 2007 and is currently recovering.
Arrival: the last kilometers will not be on a paved road. Usually it's possible to get there with any kind of cars, but you have to drive carefully and slow!

Excellent. Only short but what an amazing landscape it takes you through including some off piste sections that i would never have done on my own. Possibly the best walk i have done on Tenerife.
