Ascent to Mount Fuji or Fujisan from the Fifth Station (2,400 meters - Fujinomiya Trail 5th Station).
It is the shortest route of the four that ascend to the Fuji, but at the same time it is the most explosive and steep.
We decided to do it in the shortest possible time, in order to combine public transport from Tokyo, with one-way, ascent, descent and return trip in a single day. It's complicated, but adjusting the schedules of trains and buses can be done.
Finally we managed to complete the itinerary at a reasonable time, so we decided to go around the crater before returning to the bus where we had climbed. All in less than 7 hours and a half.
It is a route perfectly equipped for hiking and very busy, but it is NOT simple. It has no exposed or climbed passages, but it is physically demanding and climbs more than 3,700 meters in a few kilometers, making it easy to have symptoms of altitude sickness.
In addition to the significant unevenness in a short time, it is usually covered in fog or present unpleasant and changing weather. It is essential to check the weather forecast before going.
More information soon.
