Great climb to Skala famous for being the highest level climb climb in Norway.
The hike crosses all stages of vegetation to finish in a purely mineral environment. The tower-shaped Skola Hut is perhaps the most original in the country. The beds are on three floors of half-pie, the mattresses themselves being cut into portions. It is a DNT self-service refuge (no staff), which means it has a kitchen, a wood stove (and a supply of wood) as well as various foods ( preserves, bags, ...). The amount linked to the use of the cabin and the provisions deducted is settled by filling out a form, then either in cash or by authorization to withdraw the credit card. A system that could be inspired in France ...
The last water point on the ascent is the creek at about 1400m, just before attacking the steepest part. Otherwise, the water is obtained by melting the snow (to be taken near the refuge) in the pot heated by the wood stove.
The wood stove is very efficient. It was a small 10 ° C when we arrived and 18 ° C three hours after it was lit.
The sunsets and sunrises are exceptional because Skala dominates fjords, lakes and glaciers.
Must.
Note that an annual race (August 17 in 2013) rally about 800 participants. The climb record is 1h07mn ... Notice to fans!

Great trek up to the Skåla hut. We stayed overnight as it started to Snow.
