Itinerary description
*To know more about the trail between trailhead to basecamp, https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/mount-sinsing-and-kaingaran-day-0102-117188220
*Note: The local helped educates outsiders, like me, on how to properly pronounce the name Kai'ngaran. Simple. KAI. NGARAN. It is still, a single word, but that's how it should be properly pronounced*
Recently listed as Malaysia's 3rd highest (Sinsing) and 5th highest (Kai'ngaran) mountains in Malaysia, even though, these mountains have been discovered, as far as 5 years ago. Something to do with having the "proper" authorities, measuring these mountains, with their own equipments. Bureaucracy, at its best🤣.
One awesome thing, nonetheless, Pokitanaan Sdn Bhd are the same people who discovered, open up the trail, and now, continues to manages it, till today. Another awesome thing about Pokitanaan, is that they are from Kampong Nupakan, and only hires people from their lovely village, to handling everything to do with managing an adventure group. Just badass.
Phew... 6km. From Basecamp, to Kai'ngaran's peak, bypassing Sinsing's peak, just 6km, one way. But damn! You will feel every single 100 meters, without mercy! Even though the drop is only around 2200 meters, after leaving Mount Sinsing, heading towards Mount Kai'ngaran, it is still a major dragon-back type of trail, with so many false peaks! This, bloody reminds me of Mount Benum, and its 24+ false peaks, and the screwed up thing is, Basecamp to Kai'ngaran and return is only 12km! And when you've finally peaked Kai'ngaran, return the same way you came. Rinse, and repeat. I've never felt this exhausted, for just a mere 12km, back to Basecamp. It definitely took a helluva strong mental fortitude, to push through, coz my energy was completely gone. Not forgetting the constant, freezing cold! I was trembling, shivering so hard, upon reaching Basecamp, I had to throw on an extra layer of down jacket that I had, and wolfed down a batch of hot oatmeal porridge! And that, even when I already have thermal layering+ultralight down jacket+windbreaker worn! Had to take at least an hour break, just to nicely warms up, as best as possible, coz being at the basecamp doesn't change much of my freezing state, and repack my shit, to continue hiking back down to trailhead. And it most definitely didn't end there, just yet. Upon reaching the 4km logging road, it took a whole lot of cursing, just to walk! Finally, after basically sleep-walking the last 1km, the 14000 Distance Marker was in sight! That means, I only have 400 meters to the trailhead left. Never have I been so grateful!

Stream
This is the Water Source, that kept Aerick Brooke's Basecamp, alive. Also, the basecamp, is named after the person that discovered this Water Source. He happens to be Pokitanaan Sdn Bhd's 2nd-person-in-charge
Distance Marker
The view of Mount Trus Madi and Mount Kinabalu, can started be seen, from this Distance Marker. Provided, of course, if the weather is great
Mount Sinsing
Reached by 06:20, returned back here, from Mount Kai'ngaran, by 15:33. Mount Trus Madi, and of course, Mount Kinabalu, can clearly be seen here. The peak is very small, though. You won't be able to fit 10 people, shoulder to shoulder, up here.
Trailhead
Reached by 22:05😭 *Note; there's a tap, near the hut, for cleaning your stuff, upon getting out. However, if it rained, don't see the point coz y'all gonna get dirty, nonetheless. Might as well ride the 4WD, and wash-up upon reaching Kg Nupakan's community center.
