Itinerary description
Hiking up to Tavor
I parked the car next to the petrol station at the entrance of the Beduin village Shibli. (there are also bus stops there.)
I started to walk along the marked Israel trail but soon I realized that just goes along the road. Maybe later on it turns to the direction of the mountain, but I turned back and started to hike up where the electronic map showed the Israel trail.
There is no real trail there so at first I followed the path as shown in Wikiloc.
At on point a overlooked a deep hole of construction and the way to continue was to go through a few meters of dense vegetation, but on the other side suddenly I started to see the clear marking of the Israel trail and another color.
From that point the trail marking was clear.
The hike was very difficult for me, especially because it was very steep and also because it was hot. When I left the car it was around 8 o'clock about 26C when I got back around noon it was 35C.
However the trees were beautiful. I saw a fox (I think) running through the woods.
Here and there I also had some view to the surrounding area.
Both the church and the monastery were closed.
The descend was even steeper than the ascend, but it was much shorter and then I reached the village and walked some 3-4 km-s on the main street of the village. That wasn't too pleasant in the 35C heat but I encountered a pastry shop with lots of sweets. (Baklava and other honey-based sweets.)
