Itinerary description
Difficult Hike - Not for inexperienced hikers.
This hike takes in Maroon Cave and all 3 summits, West, East and then the main Maroon summit.
Navigation to the Cave isn't too difficult but beware of misleading false trails.
After the Cave you carefully scramble downhill and then hike west across the northern front of Maroon.
This section after the Cave requires careful navigation (no formal trail to follow) and I've always found my phone GPS gives you an inaccurate position at times. Importantly elevation is critical to having an easier hike, you may be close to the correct location but too high or too low. Staying low (to the mountain) is usually the best path. Check regularly, visually check you direction and the path ahead.
When you finally get near the western summit area my best advice is to stay close to the left following the cliff edge as you head from the western summit to the eastern summit.
