Itinerary description
The hike to Mulhacen peak from Trvelez.
0,0km Trevelez. The path starts directly from the village following the signs to Siete Lagunas ("seven lakes"). The path is not well signposted and we have followed the GPS device. Also we have started very early in the morning when it was still dark.
7,5km - Waterfalls. The path until this place goes through open fields. From this point a steeper climb starts until flat area of Siete Lagunas.
9,0km - Siete Lagunas. At this time of the year only 2 lakes have water so the name is misleading :-P Nice views to the peaks of Mulhacen and Alcazaba.
11,7km - The peak of Mulhacen. The highest peak of Sierra Nevada and inland Spain. We have arrived just before heavy clouds came and destroyed the view :-/ so we managed to take some last chance photos. After 1h break and proper snack, the descent was done with alter path, first to the south and later east back to the village.
23,5km - Trevelez.
Level moderate just for amount of distance and ascent and aslo possible breathing problems above 3k. No technical difficulty. It took us 9,5h with 1h stop on the peak.

Ruta exigente por el desnivel acumulado pero nada técnica. Vistas increíbles de todos los alrededores y del mar, si está despejado y con buena luz.
