Itinerary description
From the rambla at Los Martinez (376m) we head due north over the crossroads and climbing to our highest point at 612 metres. From here we take a narrow path on the left of the cliff. Great care here because there is a steep drop on your left. (Not recommended for people with vertigo). We then follow a track into to the marble quarry. Here we can take a short cut through the orchard on our right. This cuts out a short walk along the road. Both will bring you into El Chive. We can lunch here in the plaza. (Note there are no shops in El Chive). After lunch we wend our way down at times a tricky rambla. I would recommend a means of following the GPS track as available here on the website). There are a few tricky spots involving narrow paths, clambering and loose shale underfoot. Eventually you will come to the crossroads where you crossed over earlier to ascend the hill passed the unfinished building on your right. From here one can turn left and follow the route that you took coming up or the more ambitious of you can do an extra loop which adds more climbing and about 2 km plus another hour.
