Itinerary description
After a brief talk about the incident we leave Quitapellejos beach and make our way along the rambla. We are parallel to the "unused" road structures along the way. After About an hour we can view the radioactive site where bomb number 2 landed and exploded on the 17th January 1966. The whole area is double fenced to keep people out. A brief visit to a large cross nearby before continuing to our lunch spot on the hill above the Codeur water deposit. Great 360 degree views from the trig point at 84 metres. After lunch we return via the rambla to our cars on the beach.

NOTE:
There as been extensive work near the lunch spot. Tracks are being created and areas fenced. It is still possible to go to the trig point by following the red dots until you come to a gap in the boundary. Or take lunch at the cross marked in red on the website below. When the boundaries have been clearly marked a new GPX file will be created. visit https://www.mojacarwalkinggroup.com/walk-87-green.html

A rather uninspiring walk but views from hills lovely … the new railway line curtails the walk
