Itinerary description
Thanks to Staf & Ana for introducing this walk.
We start the walk at the Bar EL pinar crossing the village square from where you can see several of the 1980s renovated houses. One of them is the old engine house which held the steam engine and kettle. This steam engine house drove the aerial cable way from El Pinar de Bedar down to the loading docks at Garrucha. The cable was installed in 1887. Passing the old lead wash plant we go into the rambla where we see several mining buildings and shafts. Looking up you can see where the cable went through. In spring a large ibex family makes this valley there home. After 4 km in the rambla we reach the outskirts of Los Gallardos from where we use a part of the old railway to get to the lunch spot at the Merendero on the old Bedar road. After lunch we descend to La Mayaru before picking up the disused railway track to Serena until we reach the railway tunnel where we detour to the right through the orchard and ascend to above the tunnel then onward to the track back to El Pinar. (for a welcome drink at the bar)

Started the trail at Los Gilardos football ground heading up to El Pinar and then back down the tramway rambla as I thought it more interesting way . Mostly easy walking and no real navigation problems.
