Itinerary description

This historic route gets you throughout two of the most famous tracks: the first named Camino Viejo de Segovia used during the Middle Ages to connect Rascafría and El Paular for commercial propouses with The prosperous town of Segovia. The second track was designed by the king Charles III to provide access to the royal guests for fishing in his royal property, famous for its hunting (mainly bears, wild boar and wolfs) and fish captures like trout.
The start point, the Navacerrada Pass called in the past the Mançanares Pass use to connect Segovia with Manzanares el Real. Later Charles III order the construction of the road to facilitate access to La Granja Palace from Madrid via Villalba, much shorter than the historic Fuenfría Pass.
