Itinerary description

Walk north up the Rio Higueron through the gorge passing under Frigiliana. At the small fenced resevoir on your left, turn right and follow GR249 eventually crossing the Rio Chillar. As you climb after the crossing turn right (South) onto the Lavada(water channel) passing a sign saying Sin Salida (no exit) but there is an easy exit at the end. Follow the steep path down to the Rio Chillar generating station, and reach the river bed. It's a difficult section of path getting down to the river bed mostly washed away, but with care can be negotiated. Turn left (South) and walk back along the Rio Chillar to Nerja.
