Itinerary description

Starting point: parking at Ströden (6€). In 20 minutes you reach the Islitzeralm (1.509 mt) and you follow a wide and steep trail during 3 km. Here we took the route through the Kleinbachtal in a narrow and steep hiking path through lush vegetation. The last 2 kms are in open field up to the end of the valley, just in the base of an breathtaking waterfall. In a couple of times we had to walk on snowndrifts for some meters, but no risk, even funny. Mountain boots are required. Now it is time to climb on a rocky path during 2 hours up to the peak Rote Lenke (2.800 mts). From here you can see the Neue Reichenberger Hütte close to the Bodensee. Nice place to recharge batteries with a soup and/or a beer and to take beautiful photos.
Now, the easy descent through the Grossbachtal with impressive views. The last 4 kms the slope downwards is high, but you follow a wide trail.
