Itinerary description
A lovely walk encompassing a number of tracks including a half circuit around Brown Lake, a climb up Mt Hardgrave, a large part of the My Mother Earth track incl Blue Lake.
The elevation gain on this hike is significant so this hike is not for the beginner.
The start and finish is from Brown Lake. Brown Lake is a natural perched lake, pure rainwater tinged brown by the native teatrees. The ecosystem is an example of a coastal non-floodplain sand lake and is characterised by acidic water, nutrient-poor and sandy soil, shrub-like vegetation and wet heathland.
The climb up Mt Hardgrave is quite steep for the uninitiated. Some of the tracks are very sandy making walking difficult.
What I would improve about the track would be I might consider doing a car shuffle between the Blue Lake car park and the Brown Lake car park to take out the centre bit.

Hi, great description! Can’t wait to do it! You mention you would consider doing a car shuffle, I’m wondering what the road is like/clearance and if it is suitable for non 4WD?
Conventional cars have no problem as road is tarred.
Thanks mate! Very helpful!
