Itinerary description
Third week of September in the Rendalen villmark: autumn foliage is somewhat less advanced than last year around the same time, but conditions are still beautiful. I make a 78 km - 3.5 days hiking / packrafting tour, including a descent of the Mistra river. I start in Fiskevollen, hike up to Nordre Mistsjøen and from there descend the Mistra river by packraft to Søre Mistsjøen. The return hike goes partly off-trail via Sandbu and Sølenskardet back to Fiskevollen. Weather is generally cold with a mix of sun and clouds, and the occasional short shower.
