Itinerary description
The beginning of the trail is rather hard to find. Firstly "official" start of the trail has a gate that was locked. One of the neighbour told us it is locked since to covid. (meaning the local authority closed it?). We went through the rather dense jungle just left of the gate hoping for get back on the alley right after the gate but there is some military grade barb wire wall from the ground-up until we reach the small farm ~50m form the road.
Secondly the edge of the jungle has been cleared on ~100m since the google satellite photo were taken (which is 2021/12/31 at the moment of this writing). And as usual recently cleared plantation are a mess of cut branches and rapidly over taken by fast growth plants.
May be better to find another route to reach the point where to the official trail goes out from the new jungle edge which is at the waypoint named: Official trail going out of the jungle
Once in the jungle the way is pretty clear, and there is a small stream half way if you have a water filter to replenish your supply. It took us about less than 2h to reach the top but we were heavily loaded with water and tent to spend the night at the top.
Machete is not a must but can also be of some use.
