Itinerary description
From Kandersteg we took the lift to the Oeschinen Bergstation to start the hike. This moderate highly trafficked hike begins on a paved road to the lake. From the lake, the trail initially follows the north shore of the lake with several scenic viewpoints, waterfalls and distant mountain vistas. Shortly after the second viewpoint the trail begins its steady climb past Unterbargli and then switchbacks up to Oberbargli. Here there is a restaurant with a large outdoor deck providing panoramic views and there is a restroom. Leaving Oberbargli the trail follows a shelf high above the lake with two additional viewpoints of the lake before descending steadily and intersecting with the trail back to the left.
