Itinerary:
This long and mainly linear walk starts in the little town of Ojén. It is a hard walk of about 5 hours total being 3 hours of ascent and 2 hours of descent.
From Ojén it passes the caves and after leaving the town, proceeds into the countryside on a continual climb. The route then passes underneath the A355 through a tunnel (a torch would be useful but not essential) and then starts climbing through beautiful forest. Underfoot, the path is rocky on a sandy base so the actual walking is tough and steep. It then rises to a small shrine set in the hillside and continues to climb until a small pass is reached. This is approximately the halfway up point (about 90 minutes after the start). The track ascends to the left all the way to the Juanar walk. At this point, a sharp left turn is taken and walkers meander along this trail to the viewpoint overlooking Ojén (at about 180 minutes).
At the top an opportunity will be taken for a pause for refreshments before heading back down the hill.
The return journey is along the same route to the small pass but then turns to the left to continue downhill. The path levels out and passes through a different tunnel under the main road into a picnic area on the outskirts of Ojén. From there, the track joins the outward path and takes the walker back into Ojén (at about 300 minutes ) where there are several bars to have a rest and a drink.

From Marbella
Take the A355 until the turn off to Ojén. Follow this road for quite some time until the roundabout. Take the second turn off at this roundabout. This road will end at the big carpark not far from the Museo del Molino. This is the meeting place.

Take the A355 towards Marbella and take the second turn off to Ojén. Follow this road for quite some time until the roundabout. Take the second turn off at this roundabout. This road will end at the big carpark not far from the Museo del Molino. This is the meeting place.
