Itinerary description
We started this walk from the camping place at the edge of Oltamar where there are quite a few parking possibilities.
Looking at the info panel at the beginning of the walk you will see that there are various possibilities to shorten or lenghten your walk but the one we did seems to be the classic one.
The track is very well marked , lots of signposts and yellow/white markings on rocky places.
The walk is not difficult but on the first real climb you will sometimes need to use your hands if you do not have long legs.
This walk is very beautiful, there is great variation in vegetation and landscape and the views are dazzling.
The first part of the walk goes through wooded area along a wide track leading you to the Ermita Vella, a beautiful place with benches and picknick tables and a wc.
After the Ermita the track remains wide and will take you to 380m. where the real climb starts. You will climb through a kind of gully to 500m. to a junction that shows the way to La Mola.
The track to La Mola is a rocky one which does not really make the walking easy and you will go to 550 metres. From the top you will have a magnificent view of the coast.
You will then have to go back to the junction and follow the track to Cima d'Olta.
When you get to the junction of Corralet there is a choice which way to go up to Cima d'Olta. Obviously we took one up and the other down. Both tracks are easy and share the last quite level part to the top.
The stretch to Pou de la Mola is a really beatiful wooded and soft one. Near Pou de la Mola we saw a large goat herd making the most incredibible moves on and across the rocks.
From Pou de La Mola and also from the next junction there are tracks to abbreviate your walk and they must be beatiful including great views but we stuck to the main route which will gradually descend to 300 metres along a wide open track with massive views and then rise in two stages to 400 metres to the Pas de la Canal.
From this col the track becomes narrow and rocky and zigzags its way down. This descent is not as steep as the climb up during the first part of the walk . The last part is along a wide track again leading you back to the beginning.
This is really a very impressive walk.
