Itinerary description
Oman: Khasab: Mahas to Jebel Salastam
Hiking on a steep offroad till summit with long distance and steep elevation gain.
We saw a Nissan powerful pick up and a Jeep being driven until the summit village, so effectively you could also offroad on this road, although its challenging.

The offroad is quite steep and winds up Zigzag with good elevation gain quite fast.
The road surface is rough, but you need good grip shoes and there are nice mountains views.
Most of this trail is rough / steep offroad but the last 1,5 Kms of the summit push trail is mountain surface with no trail. but good grip area.
From the summit there is an extensive view of a large farmlands and village which we did not visit as it was 200 meters below the summit.
There are no functional villages on the way, so please go with proper preparations.
Enjoy the Hike !!
