Itinerary description

Day 3 starts out with a scenic meander along the coast, soon thereafter is the first river crossing (Elandsbos) thereafter the trail gets steep and follows the coast through forest and over rocks thereafter it gets steep and there are some exposed sections, the same goes for the way down to the lottering River, take it slow and keep focused on balance and footing. After crossing the lottering look for the yellow arrows and complete the last short climb to the Hut. Overall less climbing than day two but there are more technical sections and heights factor.

Elandsbos River was my favourite spot on the whole trail. If you are a fast walker stop there for a coffee or picnic to take in the views. We saw otter spoor and dolphins near the mouth. Just be cautious of the descent to the Lottering river, it is steep and exposed.
