Itinerary description
You can get a taxi from Sapa and do this self guided walk. First cross the bridge out of the town and climb up towards the main road, after a while don't miss the turn down towards the waterfall (arrow). It looks like a dead end but step to your right down what looks like a torrent/ stream. Head across the bridge to the waterfall and enjoy some lunch and a short dunk! Then head up the muddy slope. Take care not to miss the entrance to the bamboo forest on the right as we did. You will likely get wet, muddy and may even fall over in the wet season but that's part of the adventure. If you can take sticks or bamboo to help in the mud. Later you come out to the wonderful little village again. We managed to get a taxi back by crossing that first bridge again. There seems to be a bus/taxi rank of sorts there.
