Itinerary description
Almost bordering the exotic Peneda-Gerês National Park in the evergreen Minho region , this high country around Póvoa de Lanhoso is the perfect layout for great hiking tours. In this particular trail, what I enjoyed most was the combination between the beautiful landscapes and the granite monoliths scattered around like mysterious stone giants, insisting now and then to defy the laws of gravity. And they had the extraordinary power to make you feel big and small at the same time.
Surrounded for a few hours by such an intense scenery, there was at the end of the day no doubt in my mind that respect for Nature is the only way out for the arrogant but amazing primate we like to call human. The lesson was indeed a simple one. But why isn't the world paying attention?
