Itinerary description
A longer loop route to Paisaje Lunar that follows Barranco de las Arenas and goes through Campamento Madre del Agua before heading back.
Drive off TF-21 along track Pista de Madre del Aqua to where PR-TF 72 Vilaflor - Lunar Landscape trail crosses and park nearby. The route starts here and follows the PR-TF 72 uphill and all the way to Paisaje Lunar.
At Paisaje Lunar viewpoint take trail down to the valley to join Barranco de las Arenas.
This allows a closer look at the formations, but keep to the paths as much as possible to avoid further erosion.
This path is then followed down Barranco de las Arenas up on the left-hand side and then downhill to go through Campamento Madre del Agua. After passing through the camp site and before reaching the track Pista de Madre del Aqua a right turn leads to a disused Canal Bridge crossing Barranco de las Aquas. The track continues uphill to eventually reach a junction with the PR-TF 72 return route. The PR-TF 72 is followed back to the end of his route. There is always the option to take track Pista de Madre del Aqua at many places if one wishes to return to your car.
