Itinerary description
Papradiste to Dautica mountain.
Trail is marked as very difficult due to conditions I had, on regular spring or summer day it would be moderate one.
There was very deep fresh snow, strating from Papradiste where there was 10-15 cm new powder snow which was growing as altitude was. I knew there will be new snow falling the night before I planned the trail but I was expecting thick ice cover due to low temperatures and walking with crampones would make the hike easier, and I was wrong, I did not use crampones even the temperature was very low, I guess as it was sunny it softened the ice so I had to make my way trough the snow wich at some points was 70 to 100 cm.
I did not reach Dautica peak as I lost a lot of time making my way trough deep snow, at one point, marked on the trail, I got to avalange area, the iced thin cover was breaking beneath my feet, it sounded as detonation and the floor was vibrating, so I had to take my self to safety and find another route for descent. I had wrong info for Dautica peak, wrong trail which was marked as winter - and part of it is winter trail, but the real winter trail avoids avalange area - which I saw on descent.
Anyhow, lot to learn from this trail and this is why I am uploading it publicly, might help someone not to make the same mistakes I did on this one.
If you haven't done this trail in summer, don't go in winter for the first time.
