Itinerary description
Followed Manry's trail by the same name. The path is well marked, not particularly well maintained and easy to follow (although GPS signal was often weak). Signs with nature information are posted along the way. A haven for bird watchers and other wildlife as well. Popular destination with several tour buses noticed during our visit.
The Park is easy to access off the main road, had an entry fee of U.S. $10 per adult. Guides were available for extra. A good hike through a mature forest with a stream, huge trees and some wildlife. Upkeep needs to improve and noise from the highway detracted from the hike.
While in the area, if you are looking to view large crocodiles, drive north 2.3 km and park on the near or far side of the bridge that crosses the river Tarcoles (Rio Grande de Tarcoles). Walk along the bridge and many of the large reptiles can be seen in the water or on the shore line below.
