Itinerary description
Fabulous route in Pedrezuela! Pedrezuela is a tiny place with ramshackle charm. The hike packs in extremely varied terrain: a river canyon, lush rivers and steams, peaceful forests, the reservoir, and clearings with serious mountain views! The trail is also diverse with everything from tricky single track to open fields.
HOW TO GET THERE:
Use BUS 193 in Plaza de Castilla, the price is 4.20€ each way.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE HIKE:
This circular hike is 14km long with 400m of elevation change. We will take about 4-5 hours to do the route. The climbing and descending is steep. The path has good sections but there are several slippy, muddy, and rocky sections. There will be some brush and a stream but they should be passable in sneakers. We'll leave Pedrezuela and walk through a mix of river canyon, forests, and open country. We'll have lunch with a view of the reservoir, before emerging into the clear with views of the snow capped mountains. Finally, we'll cross a dam and return to town to grab some refreshments before heading home.
I hiked with a group of Hiking Madrid, they are very nice people so you don't have to go alone. Just check: https://www.facebook.com/hikingmadridhikingmadrid/
