Itinerary description
This relatively short walk will give you good views of the Rochers des Blaches and the valleys to the north and south of the Rochers des Blaches through which the river Roanne flows.
You can even see as far as the Mont Ventoux to the south and closer by to the west you can see the Grand Delmas, Montagne de Couspeau and the Trois Becs.
The walk starts with a descent of aboout 100 metres first along the quiet road to the col de Pennes and later along a broad forest track. When this track stops you will follow the narrow track down and around the rocks and walk through the forest on the north side of the Rochers des Blaches.
This is a long stretch, cool in summer because of the overall shade, and it will take you very gradually higher to a point where you will meet the yellow/red signs of the Gp Tour de la Vallee de la Roanne that you will follow to the Pas de Blaches.
This is a steep part of the track.
Arriving at the Pas de Blaches you will have a fantastic view of the Rochers des Blaches and the valleys to the south.
The descent to Pennes-le-Sec is short and not really steep.
