Peñón del Cura – El Chaparral

This is a linear walk starting from the offroad parking area by the shrine Peñón del Cura, and making your way to Playa Chaparral.

It didn’t pan out the way I would have liked as the sea was really rough and a lot of the sand had been washed away. And also the sea was battering some of the embankments so you couldn’t walk on the beach.

From Peñón del Cura (250m) you head towards El Faro de Calaburras beach (870m), then to El Charcón (550m), then Playamarina (940m nudist beach), and finally to Playa El Chaparral, where there is a nice beach bar – Bar Wazza.

Returning on the sand was very limited, but I did what I could.
The downside is that this section of the Senda Litoral is adjacent to the busy and noisy N340.
