Itinerary description
Grate choice for one day in Petra if you want to see all, and not to soffer the stairs climbing to the upper temple (Monastery) from the usual touristic direction of movement.
You will experience an inicial easy/medium difficulty trekking to the upper temple.
Tickets shuld be previously acquired in main entrance, in town.
The adventure starts asking some local guy in the town to carry you to the "secondary entrance" (upper entrace - quite unknown) (about 20Jds contracting, in a 4x4).
Once passed the ticket's control tent, you shall initially follow the tracks/road up to the beginning of trail which initially is made of stone steps upstream.
After about 1,5 hours of fantastic scenarios (Jordan valley, Israeli mountains, etc...), will be reached the Upper Monastery. From there the trail is the same used by returning standard visitors, down this to the main entrance, enjoying the view frontally and less tired.
