Itinerary description
Circular walk up Pic de Cagire from Col de Mente via l'Escalette giving excellent views to south and west on the walk up plus an interesting(tricky) path below Sommet des Parets. Lots of raptors. Super views from summit.
Start on the forest road to the refuge to Escalette and turn right at the sign. (the information sign has the position wrong!).
Route does not actually visit the Pic de l'Escalette but this would be a small diversion.
Good auberge for refreshments at the Col de Mente at the end.
GPS lost signal occasionally so some route detail may be missing.
Variation on Col Mente - Pic Cagire by greywolfbest.
As Pic Cagire-Pic de l'Escaletta by nudels - but clockwise!

One element of the trail difficult because it is permanently in the shade and pretty slippery. Dire consequences!
