Itinerary description

The tour starts on the south side of the GC600 at Llanos de la Paz, a very popular picnic area, but there is loads of car-parking.
The tour starts at a gentle level, but soon you are climbing through the pine forest.
I came to a clearing and looking out to see a big rock - very interesting, but not the Pico, that's further on after more climbing.
The pine forest is pretty, but even better are the higher slopes since they're bedecked by myriads of flowers at this time of the year.
Can't miss the Pico itself since it's by a telecommunication post and there's a snack van there.
What you can miss is the return part of the circular back to where you left the car. The start was clearly marked, but after 50 metres I hadn't a clue. Fortunately, a Spanish hiker came into view and offred to show me the way back - without his help, I could not have managed. He explained that few people used that trail, which is why it was not obvious. When I got back to Llanos de la Paz, I couldn't really see the start of the trail going clockwise.
It's a real shame that the return path is not more clear. If you get stuck, just go back the way you came.
Having said all that, I think the tour is worth doing for the views and the ambience.
