Itinerary description
From Alfarnatejo, a track leads upwards from the road at a point about 300m north of the village. This zigzags up to the Cortijo Lagar de Olmedo (ruined) and then a waymarked path continues up towards a group of telephone masts, where it joins a good track leading to the south-east. Where this splits, take the left-hand fork, after which the track again becomes a path. After a short ascent, this arrives at an old era (threshing circle) where there is a signpost pointing to the Pico de Vilo. Follow the waymarks to the top. Return by the same route - the short cut which I took above the Cortijo Lagar de Olmedo is not recommended.

A nice hike with fantastic views at the Pico of snow on Sierra Nevada and La Maroma, with Lake Vinuela far below. I would like to find a path down from the Pico de Vilo to Puligrín Alto, which has a great bar!
