Itinerary description

This track log continues the log for Areiero past Torres 2019-01-10. This time we started in the clouds at Achada do Teixeira and climbed into sunshine at the junction near the nature house with the Arieiro trail. We descended towards Torres and Arieiro, up and down the metal stairs to where we turned back the last time. We then retraced the many steps back to the junction and up to the top of Pico Ruivo, the highest peak on Madeira. The weather improved our views above the clouds.
The trail has been modified extensively from our previous hikes. The route over the shoulder of Torres and the tunnel route have been closed and abandoned. The steep climbs and descents on metal stairs have been substituted. In my opinion these unnatural options are are poor subtitutes.
