Itinerary description
A 15 Km circuit around the pretty commune of L'Isle-Jourdain (86150).
Level: Easy / Moderate
Time: 3 to 4 hours
Equipment: Sturdy waterproof footwear, backpack, extra layers, water
Starting at the Intermarché supermarket in L'Isle-Jourdan this walk goes out around pretty farmland, small rivers and streams, and the white water of the River Vienne. Much of the walk is in lovely avenues shaded with various tree species and it can be comfortably walked all year round.
Highlights are an 18th century church, ancient fords designed for horses (not vehicles), and the Vienne which attracts kayakers as well as hikers and cyclists.
This walk can also be done, with care, on a mountain bike.
