Itinerary description

Flatish easy and shaded woodland walk along the peaceful Pinar Del Rey reserve. Parked inside the pinar and took route along sendero Cerró del Aguilar. We continued further until we viewed Castellar town 20 minutes (2km) away at which point to veered left to start our return loop back to base.
It is highly recommended if it’s the right time of day, to walk into Castellar and enjoy a meal or snack in the towns Centre square- a couple of nice bar restaurants there . The walk is brilliant on a sunny day with plenty of shade but wonderful on or after rain when the fresh smell of earth is with you all the way. The ground is soft sand along the entire length which makes this a little more tiring than hard paths. Areas of it resemble the dunes of tarifa. There are few shrubs or grass apart from thorny bushes with the entire grounds made from pine trees and cork oaks. This is a great round trip along beautiful woodlands perfect to walk with family young and not so young and idea for dog walkers especially weekdays when you will Gabe the place to yourself! Enjoy
