This is a beautiful walk, with gorgeous views into the the Guadalhorce Valley and cities like Álora, Cártama, and Alhaurin el Grande'.
From the area recreativa Raja Ancha two tracks, marked white/green and white/red go up through pine forest and past unbelievable stone formations and caves.
The climb is gradual and relatively easy, often sheltered because of the trees but with nice views as well, especially on the goal of this hike, El santo, the statue, and on Pizarra.
The descent is along the quite open north side of the Sierra Gibralmora along olive, almond and carob trees and from the geodesical vertex you will have a magificent view of Málaga city.
During the steepest part of the descent you will have very good views of Álora.
From the Mirador de La Ermita it is 300m to the Ermita of the Virgin of the Fuensanta to the north.
