Itinerary description
One of the most impressive walk in the Tarragonès that starts at the highest point of the Pobla de Montornès. The beginning of the trail is further down from where I started (if you look at the map you can just about make it out) but if you miss it it's easy to retrace through the bush.
The rugged path is easy to follow although hiking boots and a steady foothold are a must. It meanders upwards through a great stretch of wilderness with great open views. A few years ago a fire destroyed much of the carob trees planted in the century old terraces which now lay bare and exposed.
The highest point is the La Mola de Roda de Bara and from there the path widens and moves down. Watch out for a junction next to a painted fence (I got lost at this point and had to retrace my steps) and make sure you turn right and then take the middle path going down which is not signposted. The rest of the journey takes you through a beautiful and shady stretch of mediterranean woodland.
Just before you reach the railway bridge the path forks right and takes you back to the starting point at the Pobla de Montornès.

Pay attention here at this small section is quite confusing. Don't go through the gate but turn left and take the path heading downwards.
