Itinerary description
Poitang taung is a peak of northern Mirinja range. Situated in the Bandarban district, the eastern slopes of this mountain includes in Alikadam and the western slopes is in Naikkhyangchari upazilla. Thus the ridge line of this Mirinja range marks the administrative line between this two upazillas (sub-district).
During our day long trek to summit the Poitang taung, our highest elevation at the peak was gained as 2,083 feet(+/-). Measured by gps device.
According to the Mro villagers from the western part of this peak, it is widely known as ''Poitang taung''. But to the Chakma villagers of eastern part it is known as ''Sattala pahar''.
Our route outline: Alikadam- Babu para- Dungshi jhiri- Koia jhiri para- Lippuk jhiri- Goyam jhiri- Bosudeb karbari para- Mirinja ridge line- Poitang taung(2,083 ft)- Bosudeb karbari para- Noa para- Alikadam.

Bosudeb karbari para is situated in Noapara union of Alikadam upazilla. It is a Chakma para. Established in 2009, it has only 43 families.
