Itinerary description

This hike goes from trainstation to trainstation. You can leave your car either at the beginning or at the end of the trail, however there is a bit more space to park in Villahormes. The track partly follows the Camino de Santiago, but takes some scenic detours to stay closer to the stunning Asturian coast.

Take a look at the time table before you leave, because Feve runs only 3 or 4 trains a day! You can buy your ticket in the train. There is also a direct bus connection. I myself prefer to take the train or bus first and then walk back to my car, so you don't have to walk on a scedule.

You´ll pass several secluded beaches on your hike, so bring swimwear :-) Lots of bars and restaurants as well, however some will be closed off season.

From the trainstation in Poo you can leave the main road quickly behind and turn right towards the ocean. You'll walk along meandering paths with beautiful seaviews until you'll reach Playa de Borizo (km 4,5). From there you'll have 2 kms of roadwalk to kill through the town of Barro. It is almost all on sidewalks, so it is not dangerous.

After Barro you will take a dirt track again that will circle a bit around the main road. After quite a steep descent you'll reach the main road again and walk on a sidewalk along the beach of San Antolín (km 10).

You'll go underneath the railway track (or you might have already done that if you stayed on the beach) and walk on a dirt road to the tiny beach of Gulpiyuri. Playa de Gulpiyuri is wellknown because it is almost closed off from the ocean. Passing the beach you will enjoy a stunning last part along the cliffs before you'll turn inland again, on your way to Villahormes.
