Itinerary description

Today's stage goes along the old pilgrimage route to Santiago (Rota portuguesa Via de la Plata). First to village Refega, then along the tiny little river Ribeira do Escuredo. A very nice walk with a lot of trees providing some shade from the sun. My choice was to fork off to the right to São Juliao de Palacios. By doing that you can walk along the old roman road Via Augusta Braga/Astorga from São Juliao de Palacios to Palacios. From Palacios it's up along the hills before descending down to Gimonde. In Gimonde, as well as right before you reach Braganca, you cross the rivers by the old roman bridges.
