PR-A 272 – PR-A272.1 Alozania – Siete Fuentes
This route starts on the outskirts of Alozania, on the A366, just past the petrol station on your right.
The parking area on your left is private property belonging to a restaurant, so park on the waste land on the right opposite the information board.
The first section of this walk is up a steep concrete road for about 700m approximately as there are dwellings scattered about, and also the Alozania water deposit.
When you arrive at the junction with the signboard for birds, the route picks up a mountain trail.
There are quite a few intersections but for the most part it is well signposted.
Eventually you turn right onto the Jorox to Puerto Martinez sendero.
The next intersection has an option to go two ways. I went right up the original trail Cañada Romeral. After about 2 hours and twenty minutes the route levels off as you go around the side of Sierra Prieta, to the seven fountains, with Sierra Cabrilla on your left.
I tried to find out why the fountain was called the seven fountains but I couldn’t find any information online. The Siete Fuentes is a trough with one small spout sticking out of it. This is a good spot to have a break. It’s a shame there wasn’t any water running.
Returning back to the intersection Puerto del Pino Alto I took the PR-A272.1 variation which is a bit longer coming down the Cañada del Tio Felipe, to make the walk more interesting.
This is a medium to hard walk due to the amount of uphill climb in excess of 850m, and about a six hour return trip.
There are some good views on this walk
