PR-A 496 Sendero Fluvial Coín – Guadalhorce
This is the new sendero the Mayor of Coín inaugurated last week.
It links up four rivers – Río Bajo, Rio Pereílas, Rio Grande and Río Guadalhorce.
To avoid the return journey of over 12km we used two cars. We left one car at the Bp petrol station on the A357 as you come off the A355. The BP is on your right, 400m approximately. Then we drove for 10 minutes to get to the start of the sendero.
The start of sendero is hidden down some side streets opposite Dia and Lidl in Coín. Part of the start is incomplete as the car park, and a large leisure park is still under construction.
There are some lovely shady bits, and I would guess there is about 50 percent shade. The route does try to follow all the rivers, continuing when they converge.
There are lots of diverse trees and vegetation, and is a great route for bird spotting.
All in all a great river walk that all the family can enjoy. You don’t have to do the whole 12.2km; you can turn around whenever you want.
I can see this route becoming very popular.
From the Fin de sendero it took just over 3km to get back to the BP parking area. Behind the BP there is a restaurant Tierra Santa where the menu del dia is 10 euros, and by the amount of cars there it looks very popular.

Lovely walk on easy paths with plenty of shade. I ran it and it is easily my favourite cross trail route
