The official walk PR19 Caminho Real from Prazeres to Paul do Mar is about 2 km and only downhill. This circular route is more demanding: After the very steep descent from Prazeres to Paul do Mar (the official PR19, 600 m downhill) you get to walk 2 km along the shore before you have to climb back all those 600 m uphill. Once you have reached the highest point, it’s about 9 easy flat kilometers along the Levada Nova da Calheta.

We did the trail in opposite direction. Great trail. Beautifull surroundings. 98% easy hiking. The climb from Paul do Mar towards Prazeres is pretty steep (~600m up in ~3km)! The descent to Paul do Mar not verry attractive is you have fear of heights. Otherwise a nice hike.
