This hike is the famous tour to Preikestolen, a rock platform whose edge drops 600m deep to the Lysefjord. Starting point is a pay parking, the way is very well signposted. It is actually permanently uphill, but the steps / stones are well attached. First, the path meanders through a birch forest, in between, there is always a wonderful view of the fjord landscape in front of Stavanger. After the main climb is done, it is more or less straight along the cliffs. Even before Lysefjord and Preikestolen can be seen, the view of the mountainous landscape is stunning! From Preikestolen you have the wonderful view of the Lysefjord. The only drawback: the hike is unfortunately very crowded (we were there in August). Nevertheless, the climb is worthwhile, because you do not get such a view every day! We can highly recommend the hike!
