A classic in hiking if you travel to Norway, very easy to follow leaving the parking lot of Preikestolhytta on the shores of Lake Revsvatnet and following the signs of Preikestolen accompanied by red T-shaped marks. Once past Lake Tjønane, at Stidele's information point, there are two options to get to the Pulpit, the Hill Trail or the Cliff Path or include both in the tour making it circular.
This comment is on a personal level, and the only thing you are looking for is an objective criterion when it comes to classifying the level of difficulty of the routes I share and that anyone who makes them takes a good memory. That said ... I've seen different difficulty ratings of the same route, from difficult to easy, even some has classified it as a ride for children. The route being objective, and not basing the level of difficulty on the physical form but on the terrain itself, is not at all easy if we classify it as a hiking route, instead if it would be for a mountaineering or mountaineering route , but classifying it as a children's walk ... is at least imprudent. With this I do not mean that you can not climb with children, in fact I saw several well-prepared parents with mountain gear and with them in their backpacks on their backs; but we must not forget that although it is a tourist information site, it is not an amusement park or a recreational area and that in the course of the cliff as in the same Pulpit, there is a risk of falling into the void, since it lacks of protection to avoid it. So in normal weather conditions, without rain, snow or intense fog, it can be classified as moderate, which could increase to difficult if any of these appeared. In any case, the effort is rewarded when you get to the top and enjoy some views, that for many photos that you see of the same place, it does not resemble at all the image that you can have with your own eyes. A pity that does not accompany the silence of the place by the massification of so much tourist, but ... I am not in a position to complain when I am one of them ☺
