Itinerary description

A trail for those who want to deviate from the Camino Ingles (Ferrol start) over to the Casa Rural Costa da Egoa south of Carral. The trail crosses the Coruna version so it can also get you to the hotel from that Camino.

Very helpful, thanks. Am walking this route next May and was looking for a place to stay - this is a great help.

You are welcome. While we love walking in Spain, we don't do albergues so we sometimes detour a bit. If you are looking for other hotel stops on the Ingles, we stayed in Naron (Hotel Kensington), Mino (Hotel Crisol de las Rias but there are other options), the Costa de Egoa, and then Santa Cruz de Montaos (Hotel Santa Cruz).

I'm sorted out except for Betanzos thanks - now I just have 7 months to wait!

Oh, forgot to asks - is there anywhere to eat at Costa de Egoa or did you dine in house?

  • stuart1503 Oct 4, 2017

We ate at the house and it was good. They have a bar and restaurant so a few locals stop by. The closest village is a kilometer away. The lodge is out in the countryside by itself. The lodge owners will come pick you up and take you back to the Camino if you decide you don't need the extra miles those days. Enjoy your walk.

Hi this is great. I saw your review on Booking.com and hopefully retracing your steps will save my feet a little! Is the route easy to follow, I will be solo in June?

  • stuart1503 May 11, 2018

    Yes very easy to follow.

Followed this route to get to a recommended hostel while walking the Camino Ingles. It was a rainy morning and a cold foggy afternoon but there's some great countryside to stride though and the hostel at the end was fabulous!

Glad you found the delightful country inn at the end of the trail. And I hope you met the dog who is as delightful as the rest of the family.
