Puerto Saucillo – Puerto Bellina, Yunquera
This is a very pleasant walk with some nice challenging sections, but not too hard.
It starts from Puerto Saucillo Mirador. The road to this Puerto is narrow in places, so I would avoid weekends and bank holidays. There is enough parking for about 10 cars.
This route is 2Km longer than the one signposted. It takes in a few extra out of the way paths.
Take the path opposite the Mirador. After ½ Km you come to a beautiful tree the Pinsapo del Candelabro.
From here you make your way down to Puerto Bellina. Carrying on veering to the right you go through Arroyo del Convento. In the distance you can see El Burgo.
The next impressive sight you come to is the Tajo Alberca, and from here you have panoramic views of Alcarapain, Sierra Cabrilla and Sierra Prieta.
Next you pass over a dry stream and then clamber up the Pasadilla mountain pass. Just before a junction straight ahead you pass the fountain of Capparera.
Straight ahead is a little detour to the cave Cueva del Agua. Heading back to the last intersection you then have a steady climb back up to pick up the last stretch to Puerto Saucillo.
This is a lovely walk through Pinsapo woods with amazing panoramic views in places. This is a lovely part of the Sierra de las Nieves, definitely one to do again.
