Itinerary description
Long and difficult hike - rewarding with (maybe) the best views that you can get in these mountains. The descent from 'Roca Roja' via 'Pas de sa paret' requires climbing skills and full vertiginous freedom!
This route starts at Finca Mossa, MA-10. After following the official path of 'Puig Roig round tour' (Vuelta Puig Roig) up to 'Coll des Ases' we leave the main path and follow a much smaller path up to the summit of Puig Roig. High grass and an overall dense vegetation have to be dealt with. There are plenty of 'fitas' and most of those are well visible. Some spots can be very slippery and dangerous when wet.
After enjoying the great views from the top of 'Puig Roig' we leave the summit and start our way to the smaller summit of 'Roca Roja'. There are almost no 'fitas' but the direction is quite obvious because 'Roca Roja' can be seen most of the times. The terrain is more challenging now. The summit of 'Roca Roja' offers unique views to 'S'Entreforc', the crossing of 'Torrent de Gorg Blau' and 'Torrent de Lluc'. Both Canyons merge and become 'Torrent de Pareis' at this impressive place. But soon we have to leave this beautiful peak because we still have many hours of hiking ahead.
After a few minutes we arrive at "Pas de sa paret". This climb can be very difficult - depending on personal skills and experience. The rock is not very solid and many loose stones make this part of today's hike pretty dangerous! Full vertiginous freedom is required. After the climb we arrive at the old stone wall that the climb was named after. From there we descent until we reach the official path of the 'Puig Roig round tour'. This descent doesn't follow a real path and is quite exhausting. The grass is very high and there are many holes in the ground.
Finally back on a better path we walk the Northern part of the lovely classical 'Puig Roig round tour' all the way back to 'Coll des Ases' and Finca Mossa.
Only for very experienced hikers - who know this type of terrain - and the region.
Best to explore together with people who have local knowledge.
Due to access restrictions this hike is only possible on Sundays
